This event is more than just a party. It’s an intentional space for connection and joy, built on the principle that community should be accessible and authentic. While general admission is free, our performers, artists, historians, and musicians– all local Black creatives – receive some form of compensation. We know too often Black talent is exploited–expected to give for free. This flies in the face of the very thing that Juneteenth celebrates. While difficult, we thought it important to ensure we could provide quality to our community and compensate those that labored to share their gifts with us.
